MAA Calendar 2025-2026 – Key Points:
- Each region is tasked with organizing a regional cross prior to the league commencement, coordinated by the Regional Athletic Committees, in collaboration with district councils or municipalities.
- A residential training camp is scheduled from July 21st to 25th to fine-tune athlete preparations and foster team cohesion.
- A pentathlon (Day 1 decathlon/heptathlon) for Seniors is added on October 4th to identify potential talents currently lacking.
- The YCE has been split to separate U16 from U12 and U14 categories for smoother operations.
- The 4th leg of the cross country league has been relocated from Belle Mare to Flic en Flac for better accessibility.
- A 4-day pre-level 1 workshop is set for October 2025 to recruit and train those interested in officiating.
- All road races will now be regional events, potentially open to non-licensees.
- Open Days are fixed on the calendar as regional events, focusing on talent detection, with MAA supporting regional committees in organization.
- Festival de Lancers are introduced as a regionally organized events open to all athletes.
- The MAA will organise the Southern Region African U18-U20 Championships in May 2026
